MAP 7752 Macedonian Police Helicopter unit supporting media promotion of finalized construction of all stands on -Philip II of Macedonia Arena - Skopje-Macedonia / capacity of 36.400. Home stadium of Macedonia national football team & FK Vardar and FK Rabotnicki. First construction began in 1978, with the building of the south stand. In year 2007 Macedonian Government decided to finalize the arena and on Macedonian national holiday "Ilinden" on 2 August 2009 -the construction of a new NORTH stand was finished. Then reconstruction of the SOUTHERN stand was finalized on 30 July 2009 for the matches between FK Rabotnicki and FC Liverpool & Macedonia national football team against the World Champions Spain as part of the 100-year anniversary of football in Macedonia on 12 August 2009. Soon afterr the construction of the new WESTERN & EASTERN stands started. (By mid April 2011 when picture was taken all 4 stands were finalized) In July 2012 the reconstruction of the new pitch with complex system was implemented including new athletic tartan track were International Athletics Federation (IAAF) certified Stadium Philip II Stadium with Class 1'' the status of the highest rank in the world within all requirements and specifications which opens the door for the organization of international major sporting competitions. On 25 July 2012, FK Vardar played FC BATE Borisov in the 2nd qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League to re-open the stadium. National Arena "Philip II" received great recognition from the most prestigious European sports magazines among others also "Guerin Sportivo", which in its selection of the hundred most beautiful stadiums in the world, Philip II was declared the most beautiful stadium in the Balkans.
