Photographer’s remark
VH-AME In 2003 the RAAF was operating ten year old balloon VH-AME, shown inflated next to Vernon Circle, Canberra City (side view). The Wedgetail Eagle on the RAAF Crest reaches skyward. The RAAF Motto now translates as: ‘Through Struggle to the Stars’. The Balloon Support Vehicle and trailer are also visible, along with the Canberra Theatre at rear left. 28 Squadron had a Freedom of the City Parade that day, including an F-111 flypast. (Kavanagh D-90 Balloon VH-AME Cn KB111 was Manufactured in 1993, and First Registered in Australia on 16Apr1993.)
